During a Vblock System 340 deployment, you power on all of the pre-installed ESXi servers. All but one server boots successfully. You notice the boot device is not visible to the UCS blade server. What would be the cause of the problem?

The Fibre Channel ports are not configured in the Cisco UCS. The Cisco UCS fabric interconnects are not logged into the Fibre Channel switch. The boot policy is not properly configured with the correct boot LUN ID. The SAN boot target includes a WWPN that is not properly zoned.

During a Vblock System 720 deployment, the customer asks you to change the boot LUN for a pair of ESXi test servers. They want to preserve the existing configuration while testing the latest version of ESXi on a larger boot device. You have provisioned the devices from the storage array by simply adding the device to the correct storage group. What must be done to allow the new devices to be installed with the latest version of ESXi so the host will boot?

Modify the boot policy associated with the service profile to boot from LUN ID (1). Create a new boot policy and associate it with a service profile to boot from LUN ID (1). Modify the storage group on the VMAX to change the LUN ID between the two devices. Modify the storage group on the VMAX to remove the LUN ID (0).

You recently deployed a Vblock System 720. During testing, you fail fabric interconnect A and all the servers lose access to storage. What would be the cause of the problem?

Storage was only accessible to the Fibre Channel ports on fabric interconnect A. Storage devices were not configured with a LUN address for fabric interconnect B. A path failure on the uplink ports was not handled by the PowerPath/VE software. Storage vMotion was not properly configured within the VMware HA environment.
