JOB SUMMARY

We are seeking skilled welders with expertise in ARC (SMAW, MMAW) or Gas (Oxy-Acetylene) welding for our heavy industrial facility in Assam. The ideal candidate will work on stainless steel, carbon steel, cast iron, or foundry castings, ensuring precision, safety, and compliance with Indian standards (IS) or international welding codes (AWS, ASME).


KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Perform ARC or Gas welding on steel/iron components in fabrication, repair, or maintenance scenarios.
  • Cut, grind, and prepare metal surfaces using hand tools, grinders, or thermal cutting equipment.
  • Interpret welding symbols, blueprints, and technical drawings to meet specifications.
  • Conduct quality checks for weld defects (e.g., porosity, cracks, incomplete fusion).
  • Maintain welding equipment, tools, and workstations.
  • Adhere to safety protocols (helmet, gloves, fire safety measures) in a high-temperature factory environment.
  • Collaborate with fitters, quality inspectors, and supervisors to meet production targets.

QUALIFICATIONS & SUITABILITY

  • ITI/NCVT Certification in Welding or related trades (Essential).
  • 2+ years of experience in steel, iron, or foundry welding (preferred).
  • Proficiency in ARC (Manual Metal Arc) or Gas Welding techniques.
  • Physical stamina for repetitive tasks, lifting up to 25 kg, and working at heights/overhead positions.
  • Knowledge of Assam Labour Laws, Factory Act, and OSHA standards (advantageous).
  • Willingness to work rotational shifts (including nights) and overtime during peak seasons.

PREFERRED SKILLS

  • Repair welding of cast iron components (common in foundries).
  • Familiarity with Welding Procedure Specifications (WPS) and quality norms.
  • Basic understanding of metallurgy (e.g., carbon steel, alloy behavior).
  • Experience in structural fabrication or plant maintenance.
