Job Description
As a VP, Credit Policy, Retail Assets at HSBC, your role will involve supporting policy development and downstream tracking for Unsecured Lending products, specifically focusing on cards portfolio management programs like CLI/BB. Your responsibilities will include formulating and optimizing policies for Unsecured Acquisitions, monitoring acquisition quality, managing Cards portfolio including CLI and Balance build programs, overseeing Credit Limit Increase strategies, implementing Balance Build and Revenue Enhancement offerings for Cards, managing Authorizations and Overlimit usage, handling Exposure Management actions, identifying Cross Sell opportunities, monitoring portfolio bureau score migration and risk grade, overseeing policy implementation on Credit Decision Rule System, tracking portfolio performance, initiating activation and retention strategies, ensuring compliance with Local Regulations and HSBC FIM/RG ICS and DQ, interacting with business stakeholders, generating Analytics/MIS to support policy changes, and more. Key accountabilities will include supporting the Unsecured Risk Head in managing credit risks for retail unsecured lending portfolios, analyzing credit test performance, identifying early warning signals and emerging risks, partnering with regional and local market teams on business expansion initiatives, working closely with Regional Analytics teams, ensuring documentation, policy adherence, and compliance with Risk controls. To be successful in this role, you should hold a Post-Graduate degree (preferably MBA or Post Grad in Statistics/Engineering) with 5-7 years of experience in Retail Risk management, particularly in Cards account risk management with a large local Bank. You should have a good understanding of the local industry/competition landscape and consumer credit cycle, experience with Digital journeys/Fintech, demonstrated ability in risk identification and mitigation, strong analytical and problem-solving skills, effective communication and negotiation abilities, familiarity with RBI regulations related to Cards, Loans, Digital journeys, proficiency in Excel and PPT, and experience with SAS/data mining tools.
