The Vertical Machining Center (VMC) Operator plays a crucial role in the operation and maintenance of VMC machines to create precision parts and components in adherence to engineering specifications. This position demands a high level of technical proficiency, meticulous attention to detail, and the capacity to comprehend and analyze blueprints and technical drawings. Responsibilities: Machine Operation: - Utilize VMC machines for milling, drilling, and tapping tasks. - Load raw materials securely into the machine. - Monitor machine operations closely, making necessary adjustments for quality and precision. Programming: - Input and modify machine program settings for specific job requirements. - Comprehend and interpret G-code and M-code programming. Quality Control: - Inspect final products to ensure compliance with quality standards. - Employ precision measuring tools like calipers, micrometers, and gauges. - Identify and resolve defects or production discrepancies. Maintenance: - Conduct regular maintenance and cleaning of VMC machines. - Promptly report equipment malfunctions or safety issues to the supervisor. Documentation: - Maintain accurate production records, job sheets, and machine logs. - Complete inspection reports and uphold quality control documentation standards. Safety: - Adhere strictly to all safety protocols and regulations. - Maintain a tidy and well-organized work environment to prevent accidents. Qualifications: Education: - High school diploma or equivalent. - Preferably vocational training or certification in CNC machining or a related field. Experience: - Minimum of 2-3 years of experience operating VMC or CNC machines. - Background in a manufacturing or production setting is beneficial.
