Mumbai (BKC) Defence | Full Time Job Requirement We are looking for an experienced Manager for Vendor Development and Outsourcing, to organize and oversee the procurement of raw materials, finished products and identification of new vendors for niche products and sub-assemblies for our clients. The incumbent must have a passion for skilled engineering indigenisation of foreign equipment and machinery, requiring good understanding of engineering concepts, mechanical equipment and working principles of machinery. The incumbent should have a good understanding of Indian Market and Industry with reasonable understanding of capabilities of medium and small sector industries and their pain points. The incumbent must have dealt with Foreign OEMs of machinery items and should understand the standards and technical specifications of foreign equipment. The incumbent will be responsible for identification of new vendors, periodic reassessment of vendor competence and capability, sourcing of specific equipment, machinery items and raw materials, procurement, and contract management for incoming raw materials for our product line. The products are designed to replace Foreign equipment and components on behalf of our foreign OEM Principals, under Transfer of Technology schemes envisaged as part of Make in India initiative. The goal of the Manager(Vendor Development and Outsourcing) is to ensure an efficient and regulation compliant procurement process to source customised materials and products that meet our technical requirements/standards and customer requirements. The main task will be to identify vendors and procure raw materials, finished products and components to meet technical product parameters for our diverse products, through innovative vendor identification, vendor handholding and contract management. Responsibilities Review requirement for addition to vendor database for validity and accuracy Identify new vendors for meeting the required Product/sub-assembly and material supply requirements of Foreign OEM specifications Visit and assess vendors for technical competence, financial credibility, delivery reliability Prepare and implement sourcing strategy, negotiations, and performance management of existing vendors Study and Analyse RFP to identify specific sourcing issues, study OEM Specifications and understand the technical requirements in detail to translate to Indian vendor specifications. Manage Vendor Risk and identify likely default in supply. Assist with development and execution of vendor risk management activities, sustaining vendor relationships Collaborate for renewals and changes to existing agreements, searching for new vendors, restructuring Vendor programmes to suit dynamic environment Support vendor management reviews as required and provide periodic briefings to Higher Management on changes/performance against existing agreements with vendors Budgeting & Forecasting Prepare Cash Flow requirements and brief Higher Management of contract additions / terminations to enable accurate budget forecasting and compliance. Skill Set Understanding of Mechanical engineering equipment and knowledge of suppliers of such items Understanding of Foreign Standards and specifications such as DIN, EN etc. Ability to work with multinational firms and seek technical clarifications on equipment Understanding of vendor development requirements and process Capability of vendor assessment and performance evaluation and budgeting concepts Understanding of quality standards and health & safety regulations, pollution norms Persuasive nature to follow up for timely delivery of quality products from Vendors Experience in reporting on Procurement metrics Ability to handle and work with MS Office and ERP software Outstanding communication ability, excellent organizational skills Ability to work in team/ independently and adapt to new processes and changes Decision-making skills and a results-driven approach Education and Experience Bachelors degree Mechanical engineering and knowledge of Procurement processes Experience(5 to 6 years) in procurement of technical equipment and spare parts sourcing/procurement in an Engineering establishment with technical product profile experience and exposure to key industry players Preferably should have worked with Foreign OEMs of machinery and equipment for sales or maintenance Understanding & Experience of ISO quality systems and standards Experience of Contract Management for Product Procurement Knowledge of various kinds of raw materials, engineering equipment and Indian Vendors for such goods General understanding of various technical QA Processes for equipment acceptance Prior history of multinational transactions would be an added advantage,
