Job Description We are looking for a meticulous and creative Type-setting Designer who has a keen eye for detail and a strong sense of design and color. The candidate should be proficient in desktop publishing, experienced in computer graphics, page layout software, and should have a comprehensive understanding of different graphic styles, fonts, printing, and publishing technology. Education Required An associate degree or other post-secondary awards in graphic arts, communications, or design are beneficial. Stand-alone desktop publishing courses covering aspects like importing copy and formatting digital pages are also advantageous. Completion of a 4-year degree program, ideally leading to a Bachelor of Fine Arts, is generally a requisite for aspiring candidates in this field. Experience Required Proficiency in computer graphics and page layout software is crucial. Candidates should possess a professional portfolio showcasing high-quality work. Key Responsibilities Design & Layout: Develop and create design layouts with a strong sense of color and design. Apply a comprehensive understanding of fonts and different graphic styles to create aesthetically pleasing and effective designs. Client & Printer Liaison: Negotiate with clients and printers using good communication skills. Ensure that the design meets the clients needs and is feasible for printing. Quality Assurance: Maintain sharp attention to detail to identify and correct any issues in the layout or design. Ensure that the final product adheres to the highest quality standards. Technology Knowledge: Utilize knowledge of printing and publishing technology to optimize the design process.
