Job Summary
The Two Wheeler Mechanic is responsible for inspecting, diagnosing, and repairing a wide range of two-wheeler vehicles. The role involves performing routine maintenance, troubleshooting complex mechanical and electrical issues, and ensuring that all repairs are completed to the highest standards of quality and safety. The mechanic must be proficient with various tools and diagnostic equipment, and capable of providing excellent customer service.
Key Responsibilities
Vehicle Diagnosis and Repair:
- Inspect two-wheeler vehicles (motorcycles, scooters, etc.) to identify mechanical, electrical, and performance issues.
- Diagnose problems using a combination of technical knowledge, diagnostic tools, and test drives.
- Perform a wide range of repairs, including engine overhauls, transmission repairs, brake system servicing, and electrical system troubleshooting.
- Replace worn or defective parts and components according to manufacturer specifications.
- Routine Maintenance and Servicing:
- Conduct routine maintenance tasks, such as oil changes, filter replacements, tire rotations, and tune-ups.
- Adjust and tune engine components, brakes, and chains to ensure optimal performance and safety.
- Perform pre-delivery inspections (PDI) for new vehicles and safety inspections for used vehicles.
Customer Interaction:
- Communicate with customers to understand their concerns and explain the nature of the repairs needed.
- Provide accurate estimates for repair costs and timelines.
- Advise customers on proper vehicle maintenance and care to prevent future issues.
Workshop Operations:
- Maintain a clean, safe, and organized work area.
- Keep detailed records of all work performed, parts used, and service history.
- Adhere to all safety protocols and regulations within the workshop.
- Order and manage inventory of parts and supplies as needed.
Qualifications and Skills
Education: 10th or Below 10th
- Experience: Minimum 2 year experience as a two-wheeler mechanic or in a similar technical role.Honda experience is an added advantage.
Essential Skills:
- Technical Aptitude: Strong mechanical and electrical skills with a deep understanding of two-wheeler systems (engine, transmission, fuel, electrical, and braking).
- Diagnostic Skills: The ability to accurately diagnose problems using a systematic approach and various diagnostic tools.
- Problem-Solving: Excellent critical thinking and problem-solving skills to tackle complex repair issues.
- Manual Dexterity: Strong hand-eye coordination and the ability to use a variety of hand and power tools with precision.
- Communication: Good verbal communication skills to interact with customers and team members.
- Attention to Detail: Meticulous attention to detail to ensure all repairs are performed correctly and safely.
- Other Requirements:
- A valid two-wheeler driving license is often required to perform test drives.
- Physical ability to lift heavy equipment and work in various positions (e.g., bending, kneeling) for extended periods.
