Job Description

As a Radiographer at our hospital, your role is crucial in ensuring excellence in patient care through the accurate undertaking of diagnostic radiographic procedures. By following defined procedures, standards, and protocols, you will contribute to diagnosing patients" ailments correctly and defining appropriate care plans and treatments. Your key responsibilities will include performing imaging procedures with care, competence, and adherence to standards. This involves evaluating patients" medical conditions and history, offering psychological support, following directives from Radiologists and Clinical Specialists, and operating complex medical instruments such as MRIs and X-rays. Additionally, you will stay updated on current techniques, participate in in-service training, and engage in Continued Professional Development. Specific responsibilities for X-ray procedures will include studying requisitions, ensuring accurate imaging of the specified body parts, maintaining patient records, caring for equipment, and taking necessary precautions to protect patients and staff from radiation hazards. In the case of MRI procedures, you will be responsible for performing imaging according to hospital protocols, ensuring patient comfort and safety, and administering contrast agents as approved. Aside from imaging procedures, you will inspect diagnostic equipment, maintain a clean department environment, comply with safety regulations, attend to emergency duties, and perform any other assigned tasks. Your competencies should include knowledge of human anatomy, medical terminology, and radiography standards, as well as skills in calibrating imaging equipment, positioning patients accurately, and interpreting medical images. To qualify for this role, you must hold a B Sc in Radiography or medical imaging technology and have at least 2 years of relevant experience in a hospital setting. An Advanced Diploma in Radiography is desirable. Your key result areas will focus on increasing patient satisfaction to 90% and reducing patient waiting times to less than 30 minutes.
