As a Principal Machine Learning Scientist in the Search domain at Nykaa, you will be a key player in advancing search relevance and ranking across various platforms. Your primary responsibilities will include analyzing data, developing machine learning models, and improving search algorithms to ensure an optimized and seamless user experience. Collaboration with cross-functional teams is essential to gather performance metrics, evaluate search effectiveness, and implement strategies for continuous enhancement on Nykaa's platform. To excel in this role, you should hold a Bachelors or Masters Degree in Data Science, Computer Science, Statistics, or a related field from a reputable institution. With over 10 years of industry experience in software engineering, including at least 8 years in Data Science, you should possess a proven track record of leading a team of ML Scientists and deploying scalable ML solutions. Your expertise in the Search domain, particularly in solving problems related to Ranking, Query Understanding, Relevance Feedback, Click-Through Rate Optimization, and Autocomplete using ML techniques, will be crucial. In terms of technical skills, you should have a strong foundation in Probability Theory, Statistics, and Machine Learning. Proficiency in text classifiers, vector search, ANN algorithms, transformer-based models, ranking algorithms, and retrieval models for autocomplete/suggestions is required. Additionally, experience in NLP, exposure to Language models, and familiarity with A/B testing methodologies are desired. Your soft skills should include the ability to navigate ambiguity, independently drive large-scale ML solutions, take ownership of projects, manage multiple priorities, and effectively communicate with technical and non-technical stakeholders. As a leader, you will be responsible for optimizing search, providing technical oversight, fostering an inclusive environment for learning and success, collaborating with cross-functional teams, staying updated on ML advancements, and focusing on enhancing the search experience for Nykaa's customers.,
