Job Description
The role of a Machining Value Stream - 5 Axis Milling staff member is to ensure the availability of all resources necessary to meet the production plan and implement ACME and Total Quality Management (TQM) initiatives. The primary goal is to reduce the Cost of Poor Quality (COPQ) on the shop floor and monitor the effectiveness of both machines and employees. Responsibilities include: - Compiling a list of jobs organized by machines - Verifying the availability of tools, fixtures, programs, and measuring instruments - Assigning jobs to machines based on the criticality of dimensions - Managing job changes in the event of breakdowns or overloads - Monitoring job progress according to ERP timings - Participating in daily production meetings - Ensuring parts are completed as per the production plan and router - Maintaining machine utilization above 90% - Improving setting time, cycle time, tool life, machine utilization, and consumable usage - Implementing employee suggestions and presenting successful suggestions to management - Providing control system training to employees at L0 and L1 levels - Training employees in drawing interpretation, process interpretation, measuring instruments, and de-burring skills - Evaluating skill levels from L0 to L1 - Conducting TQM Step 1 training for employees - Monitoring UWP, UBE, and UPB metrics - Providing and monitoring necessary facilities - Offering 3C containers for organization - Managing document storage and retrieval.
