Job Description

The role involves providing support to various businesses in matters related to Indirect Taxes (IDT), such as obtaining permissions and representing the company before Central/State authorities. You will act as the primary point of contact between departmental authorities and the company for indirect tax issues. It is essential to maintain positive relationships with tax and other relevant authorities. Staying updated with legal and procedural changes in IDT laws that impact the company's activities within the State(s) is crucial, and any significant changes need to be promptly communicated to the Central IDT team. You will be responsible for validating Monthly/Periodical GST returns filed by the Central Team(s) and handling audits/enquiries under GST in consultation with the State Head. Providing any requested data/information to GST authorities and drafting replies in coordination with the State Head is also part of the role. Additionally, managing returns, assessments, and litigations related to VAT (for Non-GST goods) is expected. Skills required for this role include the ability to work independently with a strong and dynamic approach. Effective communication skills, both verbal and written, are vital for interacting with multiple stakeholders in a clear and concise manner. Proficiency in MS Office and SAP is necessary. The ideal candidate should have a Bachelor's degree in Commerce (B.Com) as a minimum educational qualification. Additionally, possessing a Chartered Accountant (CA) or Cost and Works Accountant (ICWA) certification is desirable. In terms of experience, a minimum of 3 years in indirect tax-related roles is necessary, while up to 5 years of experience in the indirect tax department of a large organization is preferred.,
