Job Description

As a part of ABG Apparel & Retail business, you will be responsible for driving sustainability practices within the supply chain to ensure sustainable product and processes in line with ABG sustainability vision. Your role will involve overcoming major business challenges associated with sustainability in the apparel industry. One of the key challenges you will face is embedding sustainability practices in a large set of suppliers with a diverse product portfolio. With over 500 suppliers, 9 manufacturing units, 3 business verticals, multiple brands, and a vast number of style codes, ensuring sustainable practices throughout the supply chain will be a significant task. Increasing awareness on sustainability among stakeholders and suppliers will be crucial. Addressing the scarcity of sustainable raw materials and managing the high capital expenditure required for implementing sustainable technologies and solutions will be critical issues that you will need to tackle. Waste management will be another important aspect of your role. You will be responsible for ensuring that there is no discharge or disposal of hazardous chemicals and waste during apparel manufacturing or processing, especially in a fragmented supplier base. Effective data management across the entire supply chain, from farmers to end consumers, will be essential for bringing transparency. Managing and monitoring data to ensure sustainable practices and traceability will be a challenging yet critical aspect of your responsibilities. Your key result areas will include driving the procurement of sustainable raw materials, developing sustainable products, optimizing packaging materials to reduce pollutant usage, implementing chemical management systems, and driving supply chain sustainability initiatives. Additionally, you will be involved in the implementation of circular economy practices and initiatives such as takeback programs. Overall, your role will play a significant part in ABG Apparel & Retail business's efforts towards sustainability, environmental responsibility, and meeting the increasing expectations of consumers and investors in the fashion industry.,
