Job Summary: The Student Welfare and Development Officer is responsible for fostering a supportive, engaging, and growth-oriented environment for students, ensuring their holistic development. The role focuses on enhancing student well-being, addressing grievances, and preparing students for future career opportunities. This individual will work closely with the academic and administrative teams to ensure students are motivated, happy, and regularly attending college, while developing key skills for personal and professional success. Key Responsibilities: 1. Student Welfare and Grievance Management Act as the primary contact for student welfare, ensuring the well-being of all students. Address and resolve student grievances in a timely and effective manner. Establish and maintain an open-door policy to promote student interaction and communication. Collaborate with counseling services, faculty, and administration to ensure a positive and inclusive student environment. 2. Student Engagement and Motivation Design and implement programs and initiatives that foster student engagement and motivation. Organize regular events, seminars, and extracurricular activities that promote student interaction and social development. Monitor student attendance and take proactive measures to reduce absenteeism. 3. Personality and Skill Development Organize workshops and training sessions focused on students" personality development, communication, leadership, and teamwork. Collaborate with external trainers and industry professionals to offer specialized training programs. Create a roadmap for students" soft skills development throughout their time at the college. 4. Career Development and Placement Preparation Assist students in developing professional resumes and cover letters tailored to their field of study. Conduct mock interviews, group discussions, and assessment center exercises to prepare students for real-world job placements and internships. Work closely with the Placement Cell to coordinate internships, industry interactions, and final placements. 5. Collaboration with Academic and Administrative Departments Liaise with faculty and administrative staff to identify and address student academic and non-academic issues. Participate in student orientation and transition programs to help integrate new students into the college community. 6. Reporting and Feedback Mechanism Prepare regular reports on student welfare activities, training sessions, and engagement metrics. Collect and analyze student feedback to continuously improve student services and initiatives. 7. Compliance and Ethical Conduct Ensure adherence to college policies and ethical standards in all student welfare and development activities. Promote a safe and respectful learning environment that upholds the institution's values. Qualifications: Masters degree in Human Resource Management, or a related field. 3-5 years of experience in student welfare, counseling, or academic administration. Strong interpersonal and communication skills with the ability to build rapport with students, faculty, and staff. Experience in organizing student engagement activities, workshops, and career development programs. Knowledge of personality development training and placement procedures. Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to manage conflict resolution.
