As a part of eBay, you will oversee the design, development, and testing of complex, multi-tier software applications in a distributed environment. Your role will involve collaborating with engineers, managers, designers, and product managers to deliver innovative solutions that meet functional, performance, scalability, and reliability requirements within realistic timelines. You will also be responsible for estimating engineering efforts, planning implementations, and defining release management processes to maintain high product quality. Key Responsibilities: - Leading the development of software applications in a distributed environment - Collaborating with cross-functional teams to deliver innovative solutions - Estimating engineering efforts and planning system changes - Defining release management processes and on-call responsibilities - Developing technical expertise in the industry and product domain - Maintaining team standards and best practices - Providing intelligent solutions within the broader business context - Building and managing tech teams, including recruitment and team culture development Qualifications: - BS, MS, or PhD in Computer Science or related field - 15+ years of experience in software development, with 10+ years in Java programming, web development, big data, or machine learning - 10+ years of management experience - Strong computer science fundamentals and problem-solving skills - Expertise in object-oriented design and Java development, including Spring framework - Experience in designing large-scale distributed systems or big data processing applications - Knowledge of Docker, Kubernetes, Hadoop, HBase, Spark, or Cassandra is a plus If you are looking to join a purpose-driven company that values customer-centricity, innovation, and inclusivity, eBay is the place for you.
