Job Title: Senior Accountant Location: Siliguri Department: Accounts & Finance Reports To: Director / Finance Head Experience: 610 years in accounting roles (preferably in manufacturing or trading sector) Qualification: B.Com / M.Com / CA Inter / MBA (Finance) Salary: Negotiable Job Summary: The Senior Accountant will oversee day-to-day financial operations, ensure accurate maintenance of accounts, assist in audits, statutory compliance, and guide junior accountants. This role requires strong analytical skills, attention to detail, and a deep understanding of accounting standards and taxation. Key Responsibilities: Prepare and maintain accurate financial records and statements. Finalization of accounts and preparation of P&L, Balance Sheet, and Cash Flow Statements. Manage statutory compliances GST, TDS, Income Tax, PF, ESI, etc. Assist in internal and external audits; prepare necessary schedules and responses. Support budgeting, forecasting, and variance analysis. Ensure timely month-end and year-end closing of books. Maintain internal control systems and recommend improvements. Coordinate with external consultants, banks, and vendors. Supervise and mentor junior accounting staff. Required Skills: Strong knowledge of accounting principles and standards (GAAP). Proficiency in accounting software (Tally, SAP, or other ERP systems). Good understanding of direct and indirect taxation. Excellent MS Excel skills. Attention to detail and problem-solving skills.
