Job Summary: A Special Educator is responsible for teaching and supporting students with diverse learning needs, including those with physical, emotional, mental, or learning disabilities. They develop individualized education plans (IEPs), collaborate with general educators and families, and create inclusive classroom environments to support student success. Key Responsibilities: Assess students" skills and determine educational needs. Develop and implement Individualized Education Programs (IEPs). Adapt general education curriculum to meet students individual needs. Provide direct instruction tailored to students" learning styles and abilities. Work collaboratively with general education teachers, counsellors, therapists, and parents. Monitor students progress and maintain accurate records. Implement behavioral strategies and interventions as needed. Foster a safe, supportive, and inclusive learning environment. Conduct and participate in IEP meetings and team planning sessions. Stay current on best practices in special education and attend professional development. Required Skills and Qualifications: Bachelors or Masters degree in Special Education or related field.
