Job Summary: The Sound Engineer is responsible for setting up, operating, and maintaining audio equipment to produce high-quality sound during live events, recordings, and broadcasts. This role involves mixing sound, troubleshooting technical issues, and collaborating with artists and production teams to achieve the best possible audio experience. Key Responsibilities: Audio Equipment Setup: Set up microphones, speakers, mixers, and other audio equipment. Conduct sound checks and adjust audio levels to ensure clear sound. Live Sound Mixing: Operate the soundboard during live events, balancing audio levels and applying effects. Monitor sound quality and make real-time adjustments as needed. Recording and Editing: Record performances, voiceovers, and other audio content. Edit audio files using professional software to achieve the desired sound. Troubleshooting: Diagnose and fix audio issues quickly during events or recording sessions. Perform regular maintenance on sound equipment. Collaboration: Work with performers, directors, and other technical staff to meet sound requirements. Provide advice on audio best practices. Qualifications: Education: Degree in Audio Engineering, Sound Design, or related field preferred. Experience: 5-plus years of experience in live sound, recording, or broadcasting. Skills: Proficiency with audio equipment and editing software. Strong understanding of sound theory and acoustics. Problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
