Responsibilities: -The purpose of a SOC engineer is to monitor 24/7 an organization's IT infrastructure. This includes monitoring security systems, apps, and networks for anomalies that could suggest a breach or assault. - They have to detects, assesses, and mitigates security threats. When SOC engineer observe a threat, they will collaborate with their team to understand what caused the anomaly within the system and how to avoid it in the future. - Alert Management, when the SEIM tools triggers any alerts, it is the responsibility of the SOC engineer to look closely at each one, discard any false positives alerts , and determine the aggressiveness of any actual alert or threats are and what they could be targeting on. This allows them to triage emerging threats appropriately, handling the most urgent issues first. - Create reports that will allow experts to make changes in the security policies as per the needs of the organization - Regular log analysis for updating the companys security systems to avoid any cyber attack.
