Position Summary

We are seeking a skilled ServiceNow Service Mapping Specialist responsible for designing, configuring, and maintaining accurate service maps within the ServiceNow platform. This role will play a key part in ensuring the integrity of the Configuration Management Database (CMDB) and supporting IT operations through effective visualization of IT infrastructure and business services.


Key Responsibilities

  • Design, configure, and maintain service maps in the ServiceNow Service Mapping application to accurately represent business and IT services.

  • Collaborate with infrastructure and application teams to discover and model dependencies between IT components and services.

  • Perform discovery and dependency mapping to ensure CMDB data is current and reliable.

  • Troubleshoot and resolve issues related to discovery and service mapping processes.

  • Develop and maintain documentation for service mapping workflows, standards, and best practices.

  • Work closely with ITSM, Change Management, and Incident Management teams to enhance operational efficiency through accurate service mapping.

  • Conduct periodic audits and validations of service maps to maintain data quality and consistency.

  • Provide training and support to internal stakeholders on the effective use of ServiceNow Service Mapping features.

  • Stay up-to-date with the latest ServiceNow releases and enhancements to leverage new capabilities in the Service Mapping module.


Required Qualifications

  • Strong experience in ServiceNow Service Mapping and Discovery modules.

  • In-depth understanding of IT infrastructure, including servers, applications, databases, and network devices.

  • Solid knowledge of CMDB principles and best practices.

  • 3+ years of experience working with the ServiceNow platform.

  • Proven ability to analyze complex IT environments and map service dependencies accurately.

  • Strong documentation and troubleshooting skills.

  • Excellent communication and collaboration skills.


Preferred Qualifications

  • ServiceNow Certified Implementation Specialist Discovery or CMDB.

  • Experience with MID Server deployment and troubleshooting.

  • Familiarity with cloud infrastructure (e.g., AWS, Azure) and hybrid environments.

  • Knowledge of ITIL processes and service management frameworks.
