Job Description
- Equipment Installation and Maintenance: Install, configure, and maintain equipment and machinery at customer sites
- This could include computers, telecommunications systems, industrial machines, medical devices, and more
- Repair and Troubleshooting: Diagnose and repair technical issues, equipment malfunctions, and breakdowns in the field
- Troubleshoot problems, replace faulty components, and ensure systems are operational
- Service Calls: Respond to service requests and service calls from customers
- Schedule and perform on-site visits to address issues and provide technical support
- Customer Interaction: Interact with customers in a professional and customer-focused manner
- Answer questions, explain services, and provide updates on service status
- Maintenance and Upgrades: Conduct routine maintenance and equipment upgrades to ensure optimal performance and extend the lifespan of machinery and systems
- Data Collection: Collect data, measurements, or information relevant to the job, which may involve using specialized tools or instruments
- Documentation: Maintain accurate records of service activities, including work orders, service reports, and customer communication
- Safety Compliance: Follow safety protocols and guidelines to ensure a safe work environment for both the field work professional and customers
- Driving and Travel: Some field work professionals may be required to drive to various locations, which could include local or long-distance travel
- Inventory Management: Keep track of equipment, tools, and spare parts needed for field service operations
- Order supplies as necessary
- Technical Skills: Possess technical expertise related to the specific field, including knowledge of equipment, software, and relevant technical standards
- Communication: Communicate effectively with both technical and non-technical individuals, such as providing clear explanations to customers and reporting technical issues to the technical team
