Job Description

As the Lead Designer, you will be responsible for leading a team of designers in the project and effectively communicating designer needs and project requirements to the Chief Engineer / Project Engineer. You will conduct technical meetings to highlight best practices, quality issues, trends, and brainstorming sessions for improvement. Developing go-by drawings for future reference and coordinating technical training programs are also part of your role. Promoting teamwork and mentoring future lead designers, conducting root cause analysis of errors with the team, and fostering a positive attitude towards learning and development within the team are essential aspects of your responsibilities. You will prepare planners for deliverables, monitor trends between planned and actual outcomes, and discuss quality-related issues proactively and in a timely manner. Ensuring familiarity with work sequences, deliverables, and workflow in the project, you will set norms for CAD effort for various revisions. Identifying technical work practices requirements to ensure team delivery as per standards and preparing workload charts on a monthly basis are crucial tasks. Supporting Health, Safety, Environmental, and Sustainability Policies, Quality Policy, and Information Security Management Policy by adhering to applicable procedures and work practices is mandatory. Additionally, you will provide technical assistance to designers when required, check designer work for accuracy, layout, quality, and completeness, and develop backups to maintain the drafting team's robustness. Chairing regular meetings with designers, generating project-specific instructions, and effectively communicating with counterparts and clients for prompt resolution are key responsibilities. You will liaise with SPP&ID Administrator / Systems specialist for symbol requests and database changes, advise Chief Engineer on individual designer training needs, and analyze audit observations through trend charts to eliminate recurring issues. Capturing changes in various projects, conducting technical meetings to discuss best practices and quality issues, challenging inconsistencies on mark-ups, and collecting lessons learned from projects to share with the drafting team are part of your duties. Finally, you will audit project designers" deliverables, advise Project Engineers / Process Engineers on drawing completion, and collaborate with project engineering discipline leads to ensure project success.,
