Job Description: As a Senior Merchandiser at VAS INDIA CONSULTING, you will play a pivotal role in leading the national buying strategy. Your responsibilities will include driving seasonal buys across locations, curating collections from top Indian designers, and establishing exclusive partnerships. You will be tasked with scouting, evaluating, and negotiating with both established and emerging Indian designers to enhance our designer & brand management portfolio. Additionally, you will be responsible for developing a fashion-forward yet commercially viable national assortment plan, managing inventory and planning, and optimizing stock performance across multiple locations. Collaboration is key in this role as you will work closely with cross-functional teams including Marketing, Visual Merchandising, Finance & Operations to ensure a seamless luxury experience for our clientele. Staying abreast of industry trends, consumer behavior, and market developments is essential to drive industry insight and maintain our competitive edge. To excel in this position, you should have a minimum of 7-12 years of experience in fashion buying, merchandising, or curation within the luxury or premium sector. A strong understanding of Indian designer fashion and clientele is crucial, along with exceptional negotiation, planning, and analytical skills. Experience in managing national or multi-location retail merchandising is highly preferred. A degree in Fashion Management, Business, or a related field is required to be considered for this role.
