Job Description
Job Summary
· Responsible for all aspects of OSHA Safety Programs, manage and/or oversee various projects while providing Health, Safety and Environment advice to the Company and Contract personnel to achieve zero accidents/incidents and ensure 100% compliance with Health, Safety and Environment legislation.
Key Duties and Responsibilities
• Develop and implement an HSE Management System
• Design and implement programs to sensitize employees in practicing Health and Safety methods at the workplace.
• Develop HSE policies and procedures in accordance with Standards and Legislation.
• Provide Accident and Incident investigation and analysis and make recommendations to prevent reoccurrence.
• Provide HSE competency enhance programs e.g. defensive driving, OSHA etc.
• Act as liaison with external stakeholders on HSE issues.
• Provide an emergency response plan, testing and review.
• Provide consultation to all levels of staff on HSE related issues.
• Supervises HSE staff.
• Perform special assignments and other related duties as required.
Requirements
Academic/Professional Qualifications
· Master’s degree in environmental sciences or occupational health.
· NEBOSH Diploma.
Work Experience
· Minimum of Five (5) years relevant work experience in industry, in HSE or in a similar position.
Skills and Competencies
• Knowledge of Occupational Health and Safety Act of Dangote.
• Knowledge of Performance Management monitoring and reporting.
• Excellent written and communication (verbal and written) skills.
• Demonstrated level of tact and diplomacy in addressing complex matters.
• Excellent time management skills, plans, work programs.
• Bilingual English and French.
