As a Senior Data Scientist at Akamai's Global Web Security group, you will have the opportunity to develop creative machine learning models to address application security threats and protect some of the world's major internet brands. Working within the Cloud Security organization, you will collaborate with other development teams to design and create highly scalable solutions that shape internet security. Your primary responsibilities will include leading end-to-end development of data science projects, developing new product features using statistical/machine learning-based algorithms, enhancing processes to collect and analyze large datasets efficiently, and mentoring junior data scientists. You will play a key role in researching emerging threats, developing security algorithms, and infusing research into products to protect global brands effectively. To be successful in this role, you should have a minimum of 5 years of relevant experience, a Bachelor's degree or equivalent work experience, and a track record of leading projects to successful completion. You should demonstrate enthusiasm for mentoring and guiding data science teams, possess strong problem-solving skills, and have a deep understanding of probability, statistics, and machine learning algorithms/techniques in a security or fraud context.
