Job Description

We are looking for a Senior Backend Developer with a proven track record of building secure, scalable systems in the healthcare sector. In this role, youll architect and implement backend solutions that support clinical workflows, patient data management, and healthcare compliance standards. This is a key technical role where domain knowledge is as critical as coding expertise. Key Responsibilities: Design, develop, and maintain secure and scalable backend services using [e.g., Python, Node.js, Java]. Build and manage APIs that integrate with EHRs, health apps, and third-party healthcare platforms. Ensure compliance with HIPAA, HITECH, GDPR, and other healthcare privacy and security standards. Work closely with clinical, product, and data teams to develop features aligned with healthcare use cases. Implement FHIR and HL7 integrations to support interoperability and data exchange. Maintain high standards of data security, integrity, and availability, especially for PHI (Protected Health Information). Lead code reviews and architectural planning with a focus on healthcare workflows. Mentor junior developers and contribute to process and technology improvements. Required Qualifications: 5+ years of backend development experience using modern frameworks and languages. Must have successfully led or contributed to at least one major project in the healthcare domain. Deep understanding of healthcare data standards such as FHIR, HL7, DICOM, and coding systems like ICD-10 and CPT. Experience working with EHR/EMR systems (e.g., Epic, Cerner, Allscripts) or healthcare platforms. Familiarity with compliance and regulatory frameworks including HIPAA, GDPR, and HITECH. Experience with relational and NoSQL databases, RESTful and/or GraphQL APIs. Knowledge of authentication protocols (OAuth2, OpenID) and secure data handling. Experience with cloud services (AWS, Azure, GCP) and containerization (Docker, Kubernetes).
