Position: Sales Executive

Job Summary

We are seeking an experienced Senior Sales Executive to manage our retail operations in Bangalore city. The successful candidate will be responsible for maintaining relationships with our current network of 75 retail stores, ensuring optimal stock levels, managing payment collections, and driving sales growth withing these stores and expanding the store list in the assigned territory.

 

Key Responsibilities

  1. Store Management & Distribution

- Maintain regular contact with our network of 75 retail stores across Bangalore

- Conduct weekly store visits to assess stock levels and product placement

- Coordinate with distributors to ensure timely replenishment of inventory

- Monitor product visibility and merchandising standards at retail locations

- Ensure proper storage conditions and product rotation at store level

 

  1. Inventory & Stock Management

- Conduct comprehensive stock audits at each retail location

- Track inventory levels and generate stock requirement reports for distributors

- Identify slow-moving products and implement corrective measures

- Monitor products approaching 6-month expiry dates and implement 20% discount strategy

- Coordinate with distributors for immediate clearance of near-expiry stock

- Ensure that the brand is notified and gives approval for the above actions.

 

  1. Financial Management & Collections

- Ensure strict adherence to advance payment terms with distributors

- Monitor payment schedules and follow up on outstanding dues

- Maintain accurate records of all financial transactions

- Coordinate with accounts team for payment reconciliation

 

  1. Reporting & Documentation

- Prepare and submit comprehensive weekly sales reports

- Generate and submit detailed monthly performance reports with analysis

- Develop quarterly sales targets and strategic plans

- Maintain and submit accurate customer database and interaction records

- Track competitor activities and market trends and share insights

 

  1. Business Development & Growth

- Identify potential new retail partners within assigned territory

- Develop and execute strategic sales plans to achieve quarterly targets

- Analyse market trends and consumer preferences

- Recommend product mix optimization based on local market demand

- Coordinate promotional activities and seasonal campaigns

 

  1. Relationship Management

- Build and maintain strong relationships with store owners and managers

- Provide product training and support to retail staff

- Handle customer complaints and resolve issues promptly

- Serve as primary liaison between company and retail partners

- Conduct regular feedback sessions with key accounts

 

  1. Additional Responsibilities

- Ensure compliance with food safety and quality standards at retail level

- Coordinate with marketing team for in-store promotional activities

- Participate in trade shows, exhibitions, and industry events

- Conduct product demonstrations and sampling activities when necessary

- Maintain vehicle and travel logs for territory coverage

- Support new product launches and category expansions

 

Required Qualifications

 

Education & Experience

- Bachelor's degree

- Minimum 3-5 years of experience in FMCG sales, preferably in food products

- Proven track record in retail sales and distributor management

- Experience in territory management and target achievement

 

Skills & Competencies

- Strong communication and interpersonal skills

- Excellent negotiation and relationship-building abilities

- Proficiency in MS Office Suite (Excel, PowerPoint, Word)

- Knowledge of local market dynamics in Bangalore

- Ability to work independently and manage multiple priorities

- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills

- Valid driving license and willingness to travel extensively
