Job Description

The Retail Store Planner is responsible for developing and executing strategic floor plans and store layouts to optimize space, drive sales, and enhance the customer shopping experience. This role involves working closely with visual merchandisers, architects, operations, and real estate teams to ensure store layouts align with brand standards and operational requirements. Key Responsibilities: Develop detailed store layouts and fixture plans using CAD or retail planning software. Collaborate with cross-functional teams (visual merchandising, construction, operations) to ensure cohesive and functional designs. Plan and manage space allocation for departments, product categories, and promotional displays. Ensure layouts comply with building codes, accessibility standards, and brand guidelines. Analyze sales data, customer behavior, and traffic flow to continuously improve store layouts. Participate in new store openings, remodels, and relocations. Maintain up-to-date store planning documentation and layout library. Support real estate site evaluation by providing feasibility studies and test fits. Qualifications: Bachelors degree in Architecture, Interior Design, Retail Management, or a related field. 3+ years of experience in store planning, retail design, or space planning. Proficiency in AutoCAD, Revit, SketchUp, or other design software. Strong analytical, organizational, and communication skills. Ability to work in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment. Understanding of retail operations and visual merchandising principles. Preferred Skills: Experience with retail chain operations (fashion) Project management experience. Knowledge of sustainable design practices. Working Conditions: Office-based with occasional travel to store locations for site visits and implementation. May involve coordination with contractors or vendors during store build-outs or remodels.
