Job Description

Key Responsibilities: Quantity Surveyor (Civil Construction) 1. Cost Management and Budgeting Prepare accurate project cost estimates, including materials, labour, and equipment. Develop, monitor, and control project budgets to ensure adherence. Provide detailed cost reports and forecasts to management. 2. Tendering and Procurement Prepare and evaluate tender documents, bills of quantities (BOQ), and pricing schedules. Analyze subcontractor and supplier bids and make recommendations for selection. Negotiate contracts with suppliers and subcontractors to achieve favourable terms. 3. Contract Administration Review and interpret contract documents, ensuring adherence to terms and conditions. Assess and manage variations, claims, and contractual disputes. Maintain records of all project-related documentation and correspondence. 4. Reporting and Communication Prepare and present financial statements, cash flow forecasts, and cost analysis reports. Act as a point of contact for clients, contractors, and internal teams regarding financial matters. Provide guidance to junior quantity surveyors or project staff as required. Key Skills and Competencies: Strong analytical and numerical skills. Excellent knowledge of construction costs, materials, and methodologies. Proficiency in industry-standard software such as MS Excel, AutoCAD, and quantity surveying tools. Familiarity with contract management software and systems. Effective communication and negotiation skills. Attention to detail and problem-solving abilities. Educational Qualifications and Experience: Bachelors degree in Quantity Surveying, Civil Engineering, or a related field. Minimum 5-10 years of experience in quantity surveying in the construction industry. Professional certifications (e.g., RICS, CIOB) are desirable but not mandatory.
