Job Description
Key Responsibilities: Develop and Implement Quality Control Systems: Establish, maintain, and continuously improve quality control systems and procedures to ensure products meet company and customer expectations. Develop quality benchmarks and performance standards for each stage of production. Manage Quality Assurance Team: Lead, train, and supervise the quality assurance team, ensuring they have the skills and tools needed to perform thorough inspections. Set clear expectations, monitor performance, and provide ongoing feedback and development. Conduct Inspections and Audits: Oversee pre-production, in-line, and final product inspections to identify and address potential quality issues. Perform regular audits of the production floor to ensure compliance with established quality standards. Problem-Solving and Corrective Actions: Analyze defects and non-conformance issues to identify root causes and implement corrective and preventive measures. Collaborate with production and design teams to resolve quality issues quickly and effectively. Customer Specifications and Compliance: Ensure that all products adhere to customer specifications, regulatory requirements, and industry standards. Maintain up-to-date knowledge of relevant regulations and certifications (e.g., ISO standards) and ensure compliance. Documentation and Reporting: Maintain detailed records of quality checks, audits, and non-compliance issues. Prepare comprehensive reports on quality trends and improvement plans for management review. Supplier Quality Management: Work with suppliers to ensure the quality of incoming raw materials and components. Conduct periodic evaluations of suppliers and provide feedback for quality improvements. Training and Development: Organize training sessions for quality assurance staff and production workers to increase awareness of quality standards and procedures. Stay updated on industry trends and incorporate best practices into the quality management system. Continuous Improvement Initiatives: Identify opportunities for improving production processes to enhance product quality and reduce defects. Implement lean manufacturing practices and other methodologies for continuous improvement. Collaboration and Communication: Liaise with clients on quality-related matters and manage client audits and inspections. Ensure clear communication between departments to align on quality expectations and solutions. Essential Skills: Leadership and Team Management: Strong leadership skills to guide and motivate the quality team. Attention to Detail: High level of accuracy in assessing product quality and identifying defects. Problem-Solving: Analytical skills to diagnose problems and implement corrective measures. Technical Knowledge: Understanding of garment construction, production processes, and quality control tools. Project Management: Ability to manage multiple quality initiatives simultaneously. Qualifications and Experience: Experience: Minimum of 5-7 years of experience in quality control/assurance, with at least 2 years in a managerial role within the garment industry. Certifications: Certification in quality management is a plus.
