Job Description

As a Quality Engineer, you will be responsible for developing, implementing, and maintaining quality standards and procedures for our [products/processes, e.g., manufacturing processes, software development lifecycle, service delivery]. You will work closely with production, design, and other teams to identify quality issues, propose corrective actions, and drive continuous improvement initiatives. This role requires a strong analytical mindset, excellent problem-solving skills, and a thorough understanding of quality management systems and methodologies.


 

Responsibilities

 

  • Quality System Development & Implementation:

    • Develop, implement, and maintain quality management systems (e.g., ISO 9001, IATF 16949, AS9100, CMMI specify if applicable).

    • Create and revise quality control plans, inspection procedures, and work instructions.

    • Ensure all processes and products comply with internal standards, customer requirements, and regulatory guidelines.

  • Inspection, Testing & Analysis:

    • Design and implement inspection and testing methodologies for raw materials, in-process components, and finished products.

    • Analyze quality data, identify trends, and use statistical tools to determine root causes of defects and non-conformities.

    • Conduct product and process audits to assess adherence to quality standards.

  • Corrective & Preventive Action (CAPA):

    • Lead and participate in root cause analysis for quality issues, customer complaints, and internal non-conformances.

    • Develop and implement effective Corrective and Preventive Actions (CAPA) to eliminate recurrence of quality problems.

    • Monitor the effectiveness of implemented CAPAs.

  • Continuous Improvement:

    • Drive continuous improvement initiatives using methodologies such as Lean, Six Sigma, 5S, Kaizen, or SPC (Statistical Process Control).

    • Identify opportunities for process optimization and efficiency gains while maintaining or enhancing quality.

    • Participate in FMEA (Failure Mode and Effects Analysis) and Control Plan development.

  • Supplier Quality Management (if applicable):

    • Work with suppliers to ensure the quality of incoming materials and components.

    • Conduct supplier audits and support supplier development activities.

  • Documentation & Reporting:

    • Maintain comprehensive quality documentation, including inspection records, test results, audit reports, and CAPA logs.

    • Prepare and present detailed quality reports and metrics to management and relevant teams.

  • Training & Mentorship:

    • Provide training and guidance to production staff and other relevant personnel on quality standards, procedures, and best practices.
