Job Description: Quality Assurance Manager/Engineer Location: Thirumudivakkam, Chennai Experience: 812 years Industry: Manufacturing / Engineering / Industrial Automation Key Responsibilities: 1. Quality Management & Compliance: Develop, implement, and maintain Quality Management Systems (QMS) in compliance with IATF 16949, ISO 9001, ISO 14001, and ISO 18001 (OHSAS 18001 / ISO 45001). Ensure all company processes align with industry and certification standards. Conduct internal audits, prepare for external audits, and oversee certification processes. 2. Operations & Process Oversight: Gain in-depth knowledge of all company operations and processes, including: Manufacturing: Quality control in fabrication, machining, and assembly. Procurement: Supplier evaluation, raw material quality assurance, and subcontracting management. Production: Ensuring adherence to process control and lean manufacturing principles. Industrial Automation: Quality validation of automation components and systems. Sales & Customer Service: Addressing quality concerns, ensuring customer satisfaction, and handling complaints. Finance & Cost Control: Managing quality-related costs and optimizing efficiency. Product Development: Assisting R&D with testing and validation of new products. 3. Supplier & Subcontractor Quality Assurance: Audit and evaluate suppliers and subcontractors to ensure compliance with quality standards. Develop supplier quality improvement programs and monitor vendor performance. Ensure incoming materials and components meet required specifications. 4. Documentation & Reporting: Maintain and manage quality control documentation, audit reports, non-conformance reports (NCRs), and corrective action records. Excellent proficiency in MS Word and MS Excel for quality reporting, data analysis, and documentation. Prepare detailed reports, compliance documents, and management presentations. 5. Training & Continuous Improvement: Train employees across departments on quality policies, standards, and best practices. Implement Lean Manufacturing, Six Sigma, and continuous improvement strategies. Monitor key quality metrics and drive efficiency improvements. 6. Health, Safety, and Environmental (HSE) Compliance: Ensure workplace safety and environmental compliance as per ISO 14001 and ISO 18001 (ISO 45001). Collaborate with HSE teams to mitigate risks and enhance workplace safety. Qualifications & Skills: Bachelors degree in Engineering, Quality Management, or a related field. Strong understanding of QMS, ISO, and IATF standards. Hands-on experience in manufacturing, automation, and engineering industries. Excellent problem-solving, analytical, and decision-making skills. Effective communication and leadership abilities. Proficiency in MS Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint). Experience with Lean, Six Sigma, and continuous improvement methodologies is a plus. Preferred Certifications: Certified Quality Engineer (CQE), Certified Quality Auditor (CQA), Six Sigma Certification, or equivalent.
