Job Description

Position Overview: We are seeking an experienced and strategic Purchase Manager to lead the procurement function within our fast-paced organization. This role is critical to ensuring the uninterrupted supply of raw materials, packaging, and indirect goods and services at optimal cost, quality, and delivery timelines. The ideal candidate should possess a deep understanding of FMCG supply dynamics, strong negotiation skills, and a proactive approach to vendor management and cost control. Key Responsibilities: Procurement Strategy & Planning Develop and implement procurement strategies aligned with business objectives and production schedules. Forecast material requirements in coordination with production, planning, and inventory teams. Supplier Management Identify, evaluate, and onboard reliable suppliers for raw materials, packaging, and indirect spend. Build long-term, value-driven relationships with key suppliers and conduct regular performance reviews. Cost Optimization & Negotiation Analyze market trends to anticipate material cost fluctuations and develop mitigation plans. Inventory Control & Risk Management Maintain optimal inventory levels to balance cost efficiency with uninterrupted production. Monitor supply chain risks, including lead times, geopolitical issues, and regulatory changes. Compliance & Documentation Ensure all procurement activities comply with internal controls, ethical standards, and regulatory requirements. Maintain accurate documentation of supplier contracts, pricing agreements, and purchase records. Cross-functional Collaboration Work closely with production, R&D, finance, and quality assurance teams to align procurement with overall business needs. Support product launches by ensuring timely availability of new materials and components. Team Leadership (if applicable) Lead and develop a team of buyers or procurement executives. Define KPIs and oversee performance management to ensure departmental targets are met. Qualifications & Experience: Bachelors degree in Supply Chain, Business Administration, or a related field (MBA preferred). 510 years of progressive procurement experience, preferably within the FMCG or manufacturing sector. Proven expertise in sourcing, cost negotiation, and vendor development. Strong knowledge of ERP systems (SAP, Oracle, or similar) and procurement analytics tools. Excellent communication, organizational, and leadership skills.
