Job Description

The role of a PD cum Production Merchandiser involves managing various aspects such as product development, merchandising, sourcing, supplier management, and logistics coordination. As a product development buyer and merchandiser, you will have the following responsibilities: Overall Responsibility: - Managing product development which includes reviewing samples for construction, fit, drape, wash, etc. - Ensuring timely production as per design through material sourcing and supplier negotiations - Coordinating with all stakeholders for timely delivery of production Product Development: - Developing, evaluating, and presenting pre-development samples - Monitoring product performance in terms of fit, construction, and durability - Costing and production planning Supplier and Vendor Management: - Developing and maintaining relationships with partners and vendors - Negotiating with suppliers and vendors for best costing - Implementing quality control procedures to ensure products meet standards Reporting and Coordination: - Coordinating with various teams for high-level collaboration - Maintaining detailed logs and updates for fabric, trims, accessories, sampling, production status, etc. - Keeping track of raw material consumption, updating ERP software, and maintaining production files Qualifications: - 4-5 years of experience in product development, buying, merchandising, and production - Experience in startups is an added advantage - Strong knowledge of fabrics, trims, accessories, and factory supplier base - Excellent communication, relationship building, and organization skills,
