Job Description
You will be responsible for providing overall engineering solutions, analysis, specifications, and procurement support for infrastructure projects. Managing opportunities and risks on the project, you will need to have a good knowledge of the contract and its key clauses. It will be your responsibility to manage deliverables and provide technical support to the team. You will design High Voltage, Medium Voltage, Low Voltage, Street Lighting, and Telecom networks for infrastructure, transportation, and highway projects. In addition, you will be required to carry out grounding, lightning protection, cable containments, and shielding, as well as undertake load flow analysis, short circuit analysis, protection schemes, harmonic analysis, and grounding system calculations. Producing reports, drawings, calculations, and presentations will also be part of your role. You will need to liaise with local authorities regarding utility design proposals on behalf of the client and advise and present engineering solutions to clients and stakeholders. To excel in this role, you must be familiar with software such as Dialux, Amtech, ETAP or Cymcap, AutoCAD, Civil3D, Navisworks, and Microsoft Office to produce deliverables. You will also be required to follow QA/QC processes to ensure compliance with project requirements. Organizing and attending progress meetings/communications with contractors, consultants, and authorities will be essential to the success of the project. Your ultimate goal will be to minimize end-user comments, ensuring client satisfaction and the quality of deliverables. It will be your responsibility to ensure that the design meets all relevant codes and standards, review contractor shop drawings and materials submittals, and prepare design schedules, resource plans, and assist in the preparation of budgets. Your success in this role will be measured by your ability to produce engineering solutions that consider cost, constructability, and sustainability. Obtaining authority approvals for your design documentation, delivering design packages and reports on time and within budget, and providing technical support to the team will be key indicators of your success. You will be expected to work closely with WSP's wider Transportation and Infrastructure team, local authorities including SEC, STC, Amanah, ADWEA, DMT, and clients. With a BEng/BSc (Hon) or equivalent discipline and a minimum of 12 years of post-graduate experience, you must also be a member of or working towards associated professional body membership. Your expertise should include modeling of power and lighting networks, detailed design of engineering solutions, good report writing skills, and compiling authority approval documentation in accordance with local authority standards to obtain approvals. Your skills in electrical engineering, Amtech, Cymcap, and renewable energy will be mandatory for this role.,
