The ideal candidate for this role is a researcher with a strong background in low-energy cooling systems, solutions, and controls, along with hands-on research experience in developing and testing innovative cooling technologies. You should have the skills to evaluate and optimize building cooling systems to enhance efficiency. This position provides an opportunity to engage in impactful research that addresses the challenges of energy-efficient cooling in modern buildings. You will have access to state-of-the-art testing facilities and infrastructure for practical insights and advancements. Candidates should hold a PhD in Mechanical Engineering, Building Energy Performance, HVAC Design and Operations, Building Equipment Research, or a technology discipline related to Building Energy Efficiency from a recognized institution of higher education. Alternatively, you should demonstrate equivalent experience in these fields. Your technical expertise should include a strong knowledge of energy-efficient cooling technologies and solutions, experience with control strategies to improve system efficiency, and a background in developing and testing innovative cooling technologies. You should possess strong research methodologies, documentation, and reporting skills, as well as the ability to tackle challenges related to sustainable cooling solutions. Collaboration and communication are essential for this role. You will be expected to work collaboratively with researchers, students, and industry partners, demonstrating teamwork and leadership skills. This position focuses on research in Efficient Cooling Systems and does not require prior specific experience. The role reports directly to Dr. Yash Shukla, Principal Researcher and Centre Head at the Centre for Advanced Research in Building Science and Energy (CARBSE) in Ahmedabad.
