and Procedure into alpha numeric codes.
Medical Coding involves converting text information related to healthcare services into numeric diagnosis (ICD-10 CM) and procedure codes (CPT) used for billing and records.
As per HIPAA rules healthcare providers need efficient Medical Coders
A medical coder translates patient information from medical records into standardized codes for billing, insurance reimbursement and data analysis.

Requirements :
Knowledge in Anatomy and Physiology.
Computing knowledge in Ms word, Ms Excel, etc.
Skills:
Expertise in ICD-10 (International Classification of Diseases ) which is clinically modified.
CPT - Current Procedural Terminology.
HCPCS - Health Care common Procedural Coding system.
Effective communication is needed.
