Key Responsibilities: Patent & Technology Analysis: - Conduct novelty and patentability searches in global patent databases. - Perform freedom to operate (FTO) searches and competitive landscape analyses. - Analyze technical literature and patent publications to assess infringement risks and innovation potential. Patent Drafting & Prosecution: - Draft patent applications in collaboration with inventors and coordinate with external patent counsel. - Support responses to office actions and other stages of patent prosecution. Portfolio Management: - Assist in maintaining and optimizing the internal patent portfolio, aligning with product and business strategy. - Monitor competitor IP and provide actionable intelligence to R&D and leadership. Strategic Collaboration: - Liaise with internal R&D and engineering teams to identify inventions and ensure timely invention disclosure submissions. - Provide guidance on patent filing strategies to the R&D to strengthen innovation protection in battery cells and related EV technologies. Qualifications: - Bachelors degree in Mechanical Engineering or Chemical Engineering, or a Masters degree in Materials Science or Electrochemistry. - Minimum 5 years of experience in patent analysis, drafting, and prosecution supportpreferably in energy storage or battery technology domains. - Strong technical understanding of battery cells, electrochemical systems, and related EV technologies. - Proficiency in patent search tools and databases (e.g., Patseer, Derwent, Orbit, Espacenet, USPTO,EPO etc). - Demonstrated ability to conduct novelty, FTO, and patentability assessments. - Experience in drafting patent applications and responding to patent prosecution in multiple jurisdictions. Desirable Skills & Attributes: - A Postgraduate Diploma in Intellectual Property (PGDIP/IPR) is an advantage but not mandatory. - Excellent analytical and communication skills. - Strong documentation, organizational, and reporting skills. - Ability to work independently as well as cross-functionally with R&D, legal, and strategy teams.,
