Job Description

The Optometrist will be responsible for conducting comprehensive eye examinations, diagnosing vision problems, prescribing corrective lenses, and advising patients on eye care. They will work closely with ophthalmologists and other healthcare professionals to ensure high-quality eye care services. Key Responsibilities: Perform vision tests and analyze results to diagnose refractive errors, eye diseases, and other visual conditions. Prescribe eyeglasses, contact lenses, and other visual aids based on patient needs. Detect and refer cases requiring medical attention to ophthalmologists or other specialists. Educate patients on eye care, contact lens usage, and preventive eye health measures. Operate and maintain diagnostic equipment, including autorefractors, slit lamps, and tonometers. Assist in pre- and post-operative care for patients undergoing eye surgeries. Maintain accurate patient records and ensure compliance with medical protocols and safety guidelines. Participate in eye health awareness programs and corporate health screenings. Qualifications and Skills: Education: Bachelor's or Master's degree in Optometry (B.Optom / M.Optom) from a recognized institution. Experience: Minimum 1-3 years of experience in a clinical or hospital setting (Freshers with strong academic backgrounds may also apply). Skills: Proficiency in vision testing and prescribing corrective lenses. Strong communication and interpersonal skills. Ability to work collaboratively with healthcare professionals. Knowledge of advanced optometry equipment and technology.
