Job Description
Patient Care:Preparing patients for surgery, including pre-operative assessments, educating patients about the procedure, and monitoring vital signs during and after surgery. Operating Room Management:Ensuring the operating room is clean, sterile, and well-stocked with necessary equipment and supplies. Sterile Field Maintenance:Maintaining a sterile environment within the operating room by assisting with the preparation and handling of instruments and supplies. Surgical Assistance:Helping the surgeon during the procedure by passing instruments, supplies, and medications, as well as monitoring the patient's status. Documentation and Record Keeping:Maintaining accurate records of patient care, including medications administered, vital signs, and any complications encountered. Teamwork and Communication:Collaborating effectively with other members of the surgical team, including surgeons, anesthesiologists, and other nurses. Infection Control:Adhering to strict infection control protocols to prevent surgical site infections and other healthcare-associated infections. Patient Education and Support:Providing patients and their families with information about the surgery, potential complications, and post-operative care. Emergency Response:Being prepared to respond to emergencies, such as cardiac arrest or anaphylaxis, and assisting with resuscitation efforts.
