Plumbing Engineer Duties and Responsibilities Develops detailed plumbing system designs for commercial, industrial, and residential projects, considering water supply, drainage, and sewage disposal. Ensures all plumbing designs and installations adhere to local, state, and national plumbing codes and regulations. Prepares accurate cost estimates for plumbing materials and labor required for projects. Stays updated on industry trends, materials, and technologies to recommend and implement innovative plumbing solutions. Manages plumbing projects from conception to completion, ensuring timely and on-budget delivery. Conducts inspections and quality checks to verify the integrity and functionality of plumbing installations. Troubleshoots and resolves plumbing system issues during construction and after project completion. Maintains accurate records, including design drawings, specifications, and project documentation. Collaborates with other engineering disciplines and provides technical guidance to junior engineers and technicians. Plumbing Engineer Requirements and Qualifications Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related field. Proven experience as a Plumbing Engineer in the construction industry, with a strong portfolio of completed projects. In-depth knowledge of plumbing codes, standards, and regulations. Proficiency in computer-aided design (CAD) software and plumbing design tools. Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
