Job Title: Mechanical Technician Food Industry Location: Kingdom of Saudi Arabia (KSA) Department: Maintenance / Production Support Employment Type: Full-Time Job Summary We are seeking a qualified and experienced Mechanical Technician to support the operation, maintenance, and repair of mechanical equipment used in food processing and packaging plants. The ideal candidate will be familiar with the hygienic standards of food manufacturing and capable of ensuring mechanical systems run efficiently, safely, and in compliance with food industry regulations. Key Responsibilities Perform routine preventive and corrective maintenance on food processing and packaging machinery (e.g., conveyors, mixers, filling machines, wrapping machines). Troubleshoot mechanical faults and repair or replace defective parts using hand tools, power tools, and technical manuals. Ensure compliance with hygiene and food safety standards during maintenance and repairs. Support equipment installation, alignment, calibration, and mechanical testing. Maintain and repair pumps, valves, gearboxes, motors, bearings, seals, and belts. Maintain documentation of work completed, including maintenance logs and equipment service history. Follow SOPs and GMP (Good Manufacturing Practices) relevant to food industry maintenance. Assist with continuous improvement initiatives and efficiency upgrades. Coordinate with production and quality departments to minimize downtime and ensure smooth operations. Requirements Education: Diploma in Mechanical Engineering / Industrial Maintenance or a relevant technical field. Experience: Minimum 35 years of mechanical maintenance experience in the food or beverage manufacturing sector. Strong understanding of: Food-grade machinery and sanitary design principles. Mechanical maintenance practices (alignment, lubrication, troubleshooting). Compliance with HACCP, GMP, and food safety regulations. Familiarity with utility systems (steam, compressed air, chilled water) is an advantage. Ability to read and interpret mechanical drawings, assembly instructions, and equipment manuals. Proactive attitude toward safety and cleanliness. Willingness to work in shifts and under pressure in a fast-paced production environment. Preferred Qualifications Experience working with international food brands or in ISO 22000 / BRC-certified facilities. Knowledge of TPM (Total Productive Maintenance) or lean manufacturing principles. Basic welding, machining, or fabrication skills. Spoken or written Arabic is a plus.
