Job Description
Minimum bachelors degree in mechanical engineering. 8-10 years of experience. Experience in piping design, material selection, and code compliance. Strong understanding of relevant piping codes and standards. Ability to perform material selection, calculations, and technical evaluations. Work independently and as part of a team on an as-needed basis. Ensuring the selection and use of appropriate materials for piping systems, adhering to relevant codes and standards Creating detailed specifications for pipes, valves, fittings, and other piping components, ensuring they meet project requirements and industry standards. Choosing appropriate materials for various piping systems based on factors like pressure, temperature, fluid type, and corrosion resistance. Determining the necessary pipe wall thickness based on relevant codes (e.g., ASME B31.3, B31.4, B31.8) and project specifications. Wall thickness verification both for Internal and External Pressure. Should also perform Branch table calculations. Generating requests for material orders, ensuring accurate quantities and specifications for procurement. Assuring that vendor drawings, specifications, and datasheets comply with project requirements and relevant codes. Evaluating technical bids from vendors and recommending suitable suppliers. Upholding project standards, ensuring compliance with codes and regulations, and managing risk mitigation strategies.
