Job Title: Material Manager Sheet Metal Fabrication Job Overview: The Material Manager is responsible for overseeing the procurement, storage, and distribution of raw materials and supplies in the sheet metal fabrication industry. This role ensures that materials are available on time, meet quality standards, and are managed efficiently to support production needs. Key Responsibilities: Oversee the acquisition and management of raw materials for fabrication processes. Develop and implement material sourcing strategies aligned with production requirements. Ensure materials meet quality specifications and industry standards. Manage inventory levels to prevent shortages or overstocking. Coordinate with suppliers to ensure timely delivery of materials. Monitor material usage and optimize inventory to reduce waste and costs. Collaborate with the production and procurement teams to forecast material needs. Implement and maintain an efficient material storage and tracking system. Conduct regular stock audits to ensure accuracy and proper handling of materials. Resolve issues related to material quality or delivery delays with suppliers. Manage material disposal and recycling processes in compliance with environmental standards. Analyze material costs and explore cost-saving initiatives without compromising quality. Train and guide the team on material handling best practices and safety standards. Maintain accurate records of material transactions and inventory levels. Ensure adherence to safety and regulatory standards in material management. Work closely with production teams to optimize material flow and minimize downtime. Support quality control by ensuring proper material testing and inspections. Forecast future material requirements based on production schedules. Ensure compliance with sustainability and environmental practices in material sourcing.
