Job Description

This position is physically located in the Marshall Islands in support of LOGCAP. Under the supervision of the Facilities Operations & Maintenance Manager, the Master Electrician is responsible for coordinating and executing repairs, troubleshooting, and preventive maintenance. This includes indoor lighting systems, electrical systems and apparatus, main power distribution systems, panel boards, outdoor facility lighting, construction projects, and HVAC systems. You will respond to emergency power and back-up systems failures and monitor and test various electrical systems. Additionally, you will coordinate inspections for contractor performed work in renovations and new construction projects, locate underground electrical utilities for various projects, and ensure superior workmanship and a focus on quality end products. Following Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) is essential to ensure all tasks are accomplished safely with an emphasis on quality. Verifying actual hours worked by personnel and ensuring compliance with local Safety, Environmental, and Health directives are part of your responsibilities. You will also mentor personnel to develop appropriate skill sets and address customer concerns promptly, professionally, and courteously. The use of a Computer Maintenance Management System (Maximo and/or GFEBS) to capture data related to maintenance work orders, preventative maintenance inspections, and emergency/urgent customer requests is crucial. Ensuring personnel correctly capture data on maintenance work order requests and preventative maintenance inspection forms for upload into the CMMS database is also a part of your role. Your responsibilities include coordinating and executing preventive and corrective maintenance troubleshooting and repairs on facility electrical systems and apparatuses, supervising inspections and repairs on Main Power Distribution Systems, Panel Boards, and indoor/outdoor lighting systems, conducting project reviews and training assigned personnel, monitoring and testing various electrical systems, overseeing repairs to line voltage for Electrical systems, responding to emergency power outages and back-up system failures, maintaining accountability and serviceability of assigned tool sets and equipment, conducting tests and inspections on equipment, services, or processes to evaluate quality or performance, recording and reporting faults, deficiencies, and other unusual occurrences, as well as the time and materials expended on work orders, ensuring compliance with NEC, MEW, Performance Work Statement, and applicable regulations, filling in for Electrician Leads when they are unavailable, and performing other duties as assigned. Minimum Qualifications: - Education/Certifications: One-year related experience may be substituted for one year of education, if a degree is required. Must be able to obtain a Common Access Card (CAC). - Must be a U.S. Citizen. - Must obtain USG Passenger Vehicle license. - Must possess a current Master Electrician license. - Experience: Must have an excellent understanding of all safety directives and policies regarding the operation of equipment. Approximately eight (8) years of experience in electrical installation, construction, corrective maintenance, and preventive maintenance. - Skills: Thorough knowledge of Electrical Codes, ability to manage multiple job sites and priorities, ability to communicate, interact and work effectively and cooperatively with all people including those from diverse ethnic and educational backgrounds, ability to recognize the importance of safety in the workplace, follow safety rules, practice safe work habits, utilize appropriate safety equipment, and report unsafe conditions to the appropriate administrator, must have basic computer skills. - Working Conditions: Must be capable of working in extreme weather conditions with temperatures exceeding 120 degrees Fahrenheit. Indoor and/or outdoor environment with very adverse and harsh conditions (i.e., hot, wet, tropical environment with average temperatures of 130 degrees in the summer months). Includes some industrial production environment conditions as well. The worker is subject to noise, hazards, and physical requirements as outlined in the job description.
