Job Description
Job Title: Manager Subcontracts Department: Procurement & Contracts Location: [Project Site/Head Office] Reporting To: Head Procurement & Contracts Role Overview: The Manager Subcontracts is responsible for end-to-end subcontracting activities for solar EPC projects including vendor identification, contract negotiations, documentation, and management of subcontractors during project execution. The role ensures adherence to timelines, budget, safety, and quality standards through effective subcontract management. Key Responsibilities: Subcontracting Strategy & Planning: Develop and implement subcontracting strategies aligned with project timelines and budgets. Identify, evaluate, and empanel qualified subcontractors across civil, electrical, and structural works specific to solar projects. Tendering & Evaluation: Prepare and issue RFQs/RFPs to subcontractors and evaluate bids technically and commercially. Coordinate with engineering and execution teams to finalize scope of work and bill of quantities. Contract Negotiation & Award: Draft, review, and finalize subcontract agreements in coordination with legal and compliance teams. Contract Administration: Manage contracts throughout the project lifecycle including extensions, amendments, and claims. Monitor subcontractor performance, billing, mobilization, and compliance with project requirements. Coordination & Communication: Liaise with site execution teams to ensure timely execution of subcontracted work. Maintain regular communication with subcontractors to address site-related issues, resource mobilization, and work progress. Compliance & Risk Management: Ensure compliance with safety, statutory, quality, and ESG guidelines. Identify contractual risks and resolve disputes and claims amicably or through appropriate legal channels. Documentation & Reporting: Maintain proper documentation including contracts, LOIs, performance reports, and correspondence. Generate MIS reports for management on subcontracting status, performance, and expenditures. Key Requirements: Education: B.E./B.Tech in Civil/Electrical/Mechanical Engineering; MBA/PGDM in Supply Chain or Contracts Management preferred. Experience: 812 years in subcontracting and contracts management in EPC or infrastructure sector; experience in solar power projects preferred. Skills: Strong negotiation, drafting, and analytical skills Knowledge of contract law, commercial terms, and statutory compliance Proficiency in MS Office and ERP systems (SAP, Oracle, etc.) Excellent interpersonal and communication skills,
