As the Disaster Recovery Manager at Toast, Inc., you will play a crucial role in developing, implementing, and maintaining the organization's disaster recovery plan to ensure the rapid recovery of critical IT systems and infrastructure in the event of a disaster or major outage. Your responsibilities will include implementing and updating disaster recovery policies, guidance, documentation, and systems. You will also be responsible for developing and maintaining disaster recovery plans for Toast, including procedures for data backup and recovery, system failover, and infrastructure resilience. Additionally, you will conduct regular disaster recovery testing and exercises to ensure plan effectiveness and collaborate with IT and technology teams to ensure alignment of disaster recovery plans with infrastructure and systems. Providing training and awareness programs for IT staff on disaster recovery procedures will also be a key aspect of your role. During an actual disaster or major outage, you will manage and lead disaster recovery efforts effectively. To be successful in this role, you are required to have a Bachelor's Degree and a minimum of five (5) years of experience in a disaster recovery or resiliency management role at a fintech, bank, technology company, auditing, or consulting firm. Excellent knowledge and understanding of disaster recovery and resiliency management practices are essential, along with a strong grasp of common IT, infrastructure, cloud-based technology, and data center configurations, controls, and recovery practices. Moreover, possession of at least one relevant certification such as Disaster Recovery Certified Specialist (DRCS), Certified Business Continuity Professional (CBCP), Certificate of the Business Continuity Institute (CBCI), ISO 22301 Certified Business Continuity Manager (CBCM), Business Continuity and Resiliency Professional (BCRP), or other business continuity professional certification is necessary. Critical and analytical thinking, decision-making, problem-solving, and communication skills are key attributes required for this role. You should also have strong project management skills, the ability to drive action, build consensus among cross-functional stakeholders, and adapt to challenging and changing situations with ease.
