Logistics Specialist

Role & responsibilities


Steering of Logistic Service Suppliers (LSP)
Coordination of shipment between global equipment suppliers in several countries worldwide and LSP with focus also on required (seaworthy) packing for export shipments and export documentation
Booking of truck standard, ocean freight and if required airfreight shipments - all for standard and oversized equipment sizes
Arranging FOB deliveries globally together with LSP and/or equipment suppliers
Issuance of packing lists, customs invoices, certificates of origin and other required export documents
Arranging import customs clearance with LSP
Evaluate transport concepts and check method statements and other documentation fromLSP for oversized shipments
Coordination with transport insurance and marine surveyor; if applicable support on claim management
Alignment with equipment suppliers on packing lists and transport drawings
Preparation of the transport RFQs and negotiate the terms and conditions of transport contracts
Manage the logistics budget in project, monitoring the variances, update the forecast; identify and drive cost reduction opportunities
Negotiate with Logistics vendors
Coordination with Regulatory authorities (Notified Bodies) Customs Central Excise & Service Tax department for getting approval of successful Export and Import clearance.
Liaise with Director General Foreign Trade (DGFT) for obtaining, use and closing of Advance License and also to get Export Obligation Discharge Certificate (EODC).
Coordination with Norms ratification committee, Special valuation Branch (SVB) for closing the issues (in the form of notice) with them.
Coordination with Service Export Promotion Council (SEPC) and Engineering Export Promotion Council (EEPC) for renewal of certificates on yearly basis.
Develop Commercial Bid Analysis under Total Cost of Ownership (TCO) consideration

Preferred candidate profile

Education: Bachelors Degree in Engineering; Management Degree / Professional Degree / Diploma in Materials Management/ Supply Chain Management/ Logistics/ Transportation.
Minimum 10 years of Logistics experience in a mid-sized multi-national EPC Company, Construction. Logistics , Steel and cement Industry. Work Experience with related Agencies like DGFT, Engineering Promotion Council, Freight Forwarders, CHA etc.
Practical knowledge of international transport principles and laws and technical characteristics of transport means and organization of out of gauge road and sea freights
