Job Description
The role of Logistics Manager involves overseeing the distribution and transportation of goods from the manufacturing hub to the end consumer. Your primary responsibilities will include contributing to the creation and implementation of best practices in logistics, planning and managing logistics operations, monitoring quality and delivery times, recommending optimal transport modes, and resolving transportation and logistics-related issues. You will also be responsible for identifying inefficiencies and cost optimization opportunities, tracking slow-moving and obsolete stock, interpreting trends and analyzing data, and ensuring compliance with import/export regulations and health and safety requirements. As a Logistics Manager, you will need to possess proven management skills to optimize team performance, strong communication and interpersonal skills to build and maintain relationships with internal and external stakeholders, as well as negotiation and influencing skills. You should be customer-focused, detail-oriented, and have strong planning abilities to handle multiple projects simultaneously. Additionally, you must have commercial and financial acumen to understand the impact of logistics failures on business costs, production schedules, and customer order fulfillment. The successful candidate for this role should have experience working in logistics, production, sales, or supply chain departments, and be familiar with handling analytics tools for forecasting and MIS systems. A degree in B.Tech/B.E/B.Com/B.A. with 5-8 years of experience is preferred.
