Job Description
You will be responsible for system installation and configuration by setting up Linux/Unix machines, installing software, and configuring system settings. Additionally, you will provide technical support as needed. Applying updates and patches to Linux machines will be essential to address security vulnerabilities and maintain system stability. Diagnosing and resolving issues such as hardware failures, software conflicts, network connectivity problems, and application errors will also be a part of your role. You will need to assess capacity needs and plan for future hardware upgrades or consolidation. Understanding network protocols, IP addressing, routing, and network security concepts will be crucial. Configuring network interfaces and firewalls, managing network connectivity, and troubleshooting network issues will also be part of your responsibilities. Implementing security best practices to protect against unauthorized access and cyber threats, as well as managing system hardening configurations, will be important tasks. You should have the ability to analyze issues, troubleshoot effectively, and identify solutions. Good communication skills are necessary, and you should be able to drive and deliver tasks individually. Strong documentation skills are also required. Having a certification in Linux administration would be a plus.,
