Job Purpose/Summary:

The Senior Liferay Developer/Architect is responsible for the design, development, and implementation of enterprise-grade portals and web applications using Liferay DXP. The role requires strong hands-on experience in Java, Liferay frameworks, and integration capabilities, along with the ability to mentor junior team members and collaborate with cross-functional teams.

Key Responsibilities:

• Lead the design and development of Liferay-based portals, themes, portlets, hooks, and extensions.
• Customize and configure Liferay to meet project and business requirements.
• Integrate Liferay with third-party systems via REST, SOAP, or custom APIs.
• Perform performance tuning, troubleshooting, and optimization.
• Participate in code reviews and enforce best coding practices.
• Collaborate with UI/UX, backend, DevOps, and QA teams to deliver high-quality software.
• Prepare technical documentation, deployment plans, and support user acceptance testing (UAT).
• Mentor junior developers and provide technical guidance when needed.
• Stay updated with Liferays latest features and roadmap for effective solutioning.

Functional Skills/Competencies:

• Strong expertise in Liferay DXP (7.x), including themes, portlets (MVC and ServiceBuilder), hooks, and fragments.
• Proficient in Java, JSP, Servlets, and Spring Framework.
• Hands-on experience with Liferay REST APIs, user and role management, workflows, and staging.
• Experience with application servers like Tomcat.
• Familiarity with front-end technologies: HTML5, CSS3, JavaScript, AlloyUI, React (optional).
• Knowledge of CI/CD pipelines, Maven/Gradle, Git, and DevOps practices.
• Experience with database systems such as MySQL, PostgreSQL, or Oracle.
